Well, hello ya’ll!
DC’s capricious weather is no fun! Last week the mercury levels were soaring and this week we are down to chilly, sweater weather. I had already put away my winter clothing and wasn’t expecting the return of very cold days. We had even switched the thermostat to COOL, but switching it back to HEAT made me really gloomy! One good thing about this sudden plunge- I was able to wear my mini skirt- bomber jacket set one last time. I was even able to wear the boots that I bought in NY last October.
Talking about boots, I picked out 4-5 new pairs of boots from ALDO shoes NY last October, and never got to wear all, especially these boots. So, it was my feel-less-guilty moment when I stepped out in these boots. They are fun, lightweight and the milky color definitely makes it a bold pair.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would be aware that I went through a major thick headband phase. To an extent, that I bought at least 8-10 different colors and styles. It is really your bad hair day buddy- hides and elevates at the same time. Ms. Riri thought it was crazy and unnecessary, but now enjoys having a collection to choose from. She’s started raiding my closet and if she likes something, she will find a way to make it work, all silky blouses included!
Talking about Ms. Riri, so she had her first co-ed Neon Dance party this past Friday. While she was all excited, this mama wasn’t ready for this phase of growing up. I knew it would come, but this fast- NOOOOO WAY! We did some pre-party neon shopping, saved some hairstyles on Pinterest and had a brief safety talk right before the party. Riri looked adorable and I was totally proud of her outfit choice! Check it out HERE.
On a side note, my BIL ( sister’s husband ) was with us this past weekend. As much as I was excited for his arrival, I was more looking forward to all the homemade snacks that my sister sent. My sister packed a variety of snacks and few saris for me to wear and style for you all. Can’t wait to show you all the sari-drama.
Last Wednesday I took Ms. Riri to Aladdin Musical at the Broadway at The National and it was spectacular. It was a late evening show, but that’s not what I want to highlight. That entire day I ran chores non-stop and it got me thinking ” how and when do moms who work full-time do all their chores ?” I am part-time, stay-at-home blogger and have more time flexibility, but still my work around the house never ends. There is one thing or other always pending. If you are a full-time working mom, please share your experience and how you manage your weekdays effectively?
If you aren’t already following my new MOMMY-DAUGHTER travel page, you can do it now HERE ;). We were in Spain for Spring Break and my exercise regime got thrown out of the window. Honestly, I cared less b/c we were walking almost 18k-20k steps each day. But, once I was here, I bounced back right away and have been sharing some simple exercises you all can do too. My first one was 4 exercises for the stubborn BRA BULGE, that you can watch HERE.
So many of you asked me to share what I eat/drink in a day to keep that bodyweight under check. Well, my truth is that “I EAT everything, but in moderation. “I’ve certainly curtailed salt, sugar and sugary drinks and I’ve noticed a major difference in my overall health. I don’t believe in diets or reducing by way of starvation. These diets work in the short run but in the bigger picture- they do more harm than good. Eating right in right quantities without feeling guilty is the way to go.
