HAPPY VAELNTINE’S DAY to all my lovelies!!
Feels like forever, but I am so happy to be back to this little world of mine! I had some ungoing technical issues with my web hosting platform and wasn’t able to logon to my account. I had given up all hope, I thought my blog was dead…teary eyes!! Until, I found this techie in India who helped me revive my blog. It took him just an hour to resolve a four-months long glitch- wish I had found him earlier. Long story short, never loose hope, keep trying and things will one day fall in place!!
A lot has happened since the last time I posted here. I now have three active instagram accounts namely; @MusingsOfSaumya where I share makeup, beauty and health content.
@DousedInStyle for all my classic, sophisticated fashion looks and style tips.
@TheTravelingModa – my newly launched travel page where I will be chronicling our family travel adventures. Make sure you are following all my accounts for a taste of fashion/beauty/food and family travel.
Shifting gears now; today’s highlight is this Indian fusion look, an outfit in which my true passion lies. I have always enjoyed mixing my western pieces with Indian pieces, and this outfit is a true representation of my passion.
RUFFLE SARI // CORSET BLOUSE // ROUND PEARL BAG // MY JEWELRY SET
Well, if you got a minute- I would like to share the story behind this outfit. So… I had this ivory, pre-draped ruffle sari custom-made in India for my husband’s nephew’s Indian wedding back in July 2022. This ruffle sari is beautiful, dramatic and all that the groom’s aunt would dream of.
Now you might say ” hello, the sari is so plain, what’s so great about it”? In my plain Jane sari’s defense I would say ” well, originally it was paired with an ornate, emerald stone embellished blouse and a matching emerald belt. ” Now, you would say ” so where is the blouse and the belt?” and I would coyly reply ” I FORGOT IN INDIA “. Yes, I forgot the blouse and the belt in India amidst all the wedding chaos and packing for our inbound US trip.
Now that I had forgotten the blouse in India, there was no use of the sari to me, until I had the blouse in my possession again. So, I carefully packed the sari in a storage bag and put it away. I received this jewelry as a gift a couple weeks ago and I instantly knew I needed the sari. I had to dig out the sari from my closet and pair it with the jewelry. But, I still needed a blouse; hence the corset blouse.
A corset is definitely a huge upgrade to a traditional sari blouse- it is bolder, sexier and very modern! I would wear one in a heartbeat and thanks to my sartorial choices- I had one that would match the sari so well! The outfit overall made for a fresh change and the corset made for the best backdrop for the stunning ruby set. What do you think? I’ve linked the ruby set here and above, do check out this small business I’m loving !!
