Hello from the other side of the world. I’ve been in India for just about three weeks now and it’s been incredible so far! The first few days were terrible, the jet lag and the soaring temps really threw us off. As the jet lag weaned off, the feeling of high heat also felt normal. Now that we are completely settled, it’s been nothing but fun…
Wedding preps are in full swing and the house is buzzing with people. Outstation guests have started to roll in and there is so much festive energy all around. My outfits for all the functions is ready and I can’t wait to show em all to you.
While on one hand I’m excited about all the colorful trousseau, I’m dreading the the humidity on the other hand. My hair is being so temperamental- it’s having a party of it’s own. I was planning on styling my hair differently each day but given the humidity- I’ll have to resort to tying my hair in a bun every single function. I hope the hair artist we’ve hired brings enough hairspray and frizz gels with her.
We are here but we left a piece of our heart in DC. Our dog Maze is there and we miss hime so much. We tried a dog boarding but their policy of no outside walking was a deal-breaker. I get the intent behind this no-walk policy, but how can you keep the dogs stranded indoors for a week?????? My Maze is a social dog who loves outdoors and I couldn’t handle him being stuck indoors- thanks to the webcam at the boarding.
I recently shared a picture on Instagram of my favorite childhood summer fruit- Java Plum and my insta-family went bonkers! So many of my NRI followers felt the nostalgia. Jamun or Java Plum is a summer fruit, never seen in the US, and I was so thrilled to be eating it after 16 years. Java plum tastes delicious and has such great medicinal properties. It’s the king of fruits for me- I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
If you follow me on Instagram stories, you might have seen snippets from my Mussoorie trip. It was a last minute trip to bring home my nephew who is attending a boarding school there. Mussoorie is a school town and I loved the boarding culture so much that we ended up touring two boarding schools. Not that we have immediate plans of sending Ms. Riri to boarding, but I don’t mind if she is ready.
Shifting gears to my social media life, so I have been taking it easy. I am really here to enjoy and I’m soaking in every last bit of warmth from everyone. Honestly speaking, my days are less stressful and I’m loving this detox.
I’m also excited to be one of Google’s paid early testers for their Thank with Google pilot program. Thank with Google is an experimental feature that allows my readers to purchase a virtual sticker and directly show their appreciation for content on my website. As a loyal supporter, you can now feel more connected and engaged because you have the ability to express yourself and share what my work means to you.
There are a variety of stickers to select from and every time you send a paid sticker, you can add a personal message which I enjoy receiving. For me, these virtual stickers translate into direct revenue to support the work that goes into the content that you are enjoying on my blog.
You can find the Thank with Google feature in multiple places on my site. If you try it out, let me know what you think! Thanks as always for your support!
Now it is your turn to share your favorite looks.
