As much as I love winter for the all the sartorial layering options it brings with it, I love summer for all the lovely dresses options it offers. Talking about the options, there is such a variety of styles across the board- shift, swing, A-line, trumpet, and maxi to name a few. Honestly. I would’ve stayed oblivious to all these names and styles had I not been a style blogger. Thanks to this world of blogging that educates me every single day.
Coming back to the dress styles we’d be reviewing, I have four popular styles covered below. Tiered dress ( both mini and maxi ), kaftan, shift, and shirtdress ( both maxi and mini). Out of all these styles, kaftan is my ultimate favorite and THIS POST is a testimony to my love for summer kaftans.
OUTFIT #1 : Yellow Dress ( gifted ) // White Blazer // Orange Heels // Baller bag // Choker Necklace
OUTFIT #2 : Maxi Shirtdress ( gifted ) // Blue Bag // Orange Raffia Sandals
OUTFIT #3 : White Shift Dress (gifted) // Brown Pumps // Chartreuse Bucket Bag ( gifted )
OUTFIT #4 : Tropical Print Kaftan Dress (gifted ) // Colorful Bag // Blue Heels
The tiered dress is characterised as having a series of overlapping layers. They are generally different lengths and create a range of different hem lines when it comes to the skirt of the dress. These are the most forgiving dress style. Roomy and usually floating away from the body, making it ideal for all body types.
A shift dress is a dress in which the cloth falls straight from the shoulders and has darts around the bust. It frequently features a high scoop or boat neck. Shift dresses are often confused with the sheath dress, which is form-fitting and shaped by tucks on the waist area. This is a very classic fit that I have always been in love with!
A shirtdress is a style of women’s dress that borrows details from a man’s shirt. These can include a collar, a button front, or cuffed sleeves. Often, these dresses are made up in crisp fabrics including cotton or silk, much like a men’s dress shirt would be.
A kaftan is a long, flowing, sleeved ankle-length garment. This loose type of dress was originally a long, buttoned-up robe worn primarily by men in the Middle East, but not its clearly a women-thing. It is airy, comfortable and so fun to frolic in.
Now it is your turn to share your favorite looks.
