Contrary to what I shared in my last post, today I’m sharing FOUR personal things I will not be buying in 2022. Not because my budget is already maxed out from all the over-zealous holiday shopping, but reflecting back on those products- I’ve really had no use for them! They just sat in my closet/vanity in 2021, without any substantial use. I now feel “they were just a waste of resources and have no worth in my life anymore!”
So, without further adieu, let’s delve right into the products I will NOT be buying this year..
Facial Cleansing tools
Foreo, clarisonic, PMD clean, you name it and I might already own it. Not that I needed all of these- some were gifts while others I bought. Different brands, different names but at the end they all serve the same purpose- deep clean your skin.
Honestly, I feel these are all irrelevant, no offense to the daily users. But, the more tools you have, the more maintenance is needed. Battery, cleaning, refills, all that extra work comes as a part of the parcel. A soft baby washcloth with your favorite cleansing gel does the same job as all of the aforementioned. Even better- you can toss the washcloth in the laundry after every use, so no bacterial-growth-scare.
It will be hard for me to resist buying the newer cleansing launches in the market, but certainly not impossible. I depute you all to keep a tab on me and poke me anytime I share about buying a new cleansing tool.

Cheap heels
Not once but four times this past year I ordered shoes from the infamous Asian retailers and it was a waste of everything each time! The low prices, high-end-dupe looks lured me into buying those heels, which now I totally regret! Not only are they bad quality but there is zero comfort. Worst, I can’t even sell them as I wouldn’t want others to fall prey to the discomfort.
Plus, I feel now I need more arch support, comfort, and shoes that are practical and long-lasting. So for that reason I shall be shunning these random purchases and focusing more on quality versus quantity.
Multivitamins
It’s recommended that we all supplement our diet with vitamins. But, if you are eating a healthy, balanced diet- there is no need for these. Unless you are deficient or if there is a medical need for it, I don’t see any reason to make it a part of your daily diet. I just did my annual preventative and my physician says “ it’s up to you but you don’t need any”. Music to my ears and wallet too!
It’s a different thing if a brand sends me boxes full of supplements, I won’t stop them. However, I wouldn’t spend my money on buying supplements and vitamins I don’t need.
liquid eyeliners
When I was young, eyeliners looked horrendous on me. It wouldn’t look natural and I would look like a total weirdo. Hence, I abstained from wearing liquid liners. I started wearing them only after my marriage, like 16 years ago. But my recent India trip was an eye-opener….literally!
My MUA sister revealed that models don’t use liquid liners when getting their makeup done for photoshoots. It’s either eyeshadow or gel liners, both applied using a fine tip brush. Liquid liners can be too harsh and are harder to blend, so the professional makeup artists avoid it in general. I tried this formula when in India and trust me guys ” I was impressed and overjoyed “. The results were bigger looking sultry eyes. I never enjoyed applying eyeliners, so now I have all the more reasons to skip them and not buy them.
