Sweater dresses always intimidated me- I never thought I’d be able to wear one. Blame it on my straighter body and broader shoulders, I never thought I’ll find one to flatter my less curvier frame . But, when I tried this one, I was pumped! Whatever your body type, there is always a fit and cut that will be forgiving and I finally found mine.
This sweater dress does have a padded shoulder but the way it drapes works for my frame. The material isn’t too clingy and has just enough stretch to hit the right curves. The side slit makes walking and sitting a breeze. I would highly recommend it all looking for a good-quality sweater dress.
I am usually very ambitious when it comes to my blog and content-creation. Two blog posts, five Instagram posts, and two Facebook posts entail my weekly content calendar. However, this particular blog post took me six weeks to compose. Call it year-end lethargy or just travel-bug-bitten, I took my own sweet time here. I was with my family in India in December and being active on my social media was the last thing on my mind. I went there after 3 years and being present for and with them was all I wanted to do.

Talking a little more about my India trip, so I’ve come to the conclusion that during the pandemic “it’s the best to stay home and stay safe!” In the four weeks of my trip, I was either on a plane or on the road every fifth day and had to take an RT-PCR every time I hopped on a plane. The swabbing was unpleasant as they do both mouth and nose in India. I am triple vaccinated but yet the fear of contracting the virus always lingered. I would rather stay at home and communicate with family virtually, than staying masked up around them.
Besides the covid doldrums, I had the most memorable time with family. We traveled to Goa to celebrate my BIL’s 40th and it was one heck of a trip. We ate, we drank, we beach-hopped and had the most amazing villa with a private pool. Our timing was right and we totally lucked out, coz after that week folks who I know travelled to Goa- all got tested positive.
While Goa was a breather, on the last day of our trip- we had a little scare. My daughter got stung by a jellyfish and broke out in hives instantly. She wasn’t able to walk and had a major breakdown and so did I. I didn’t know what to do? Glad, the shack staff was around and knew the easy antidote. They gave us a cup full of white vinegar to pour on the hives. It did take some time for the hives to subside, but it normalized. We would have had to take her to the doctor if there were any tentacles remnants. It was a stressful moment but at least I now know that Vinegar is the cure to a jellyfish sting.
You won’t believe if I said that I filmed or shot nothing blog-related on my Goa trip. Whatever I shot was for family. I filmed some Indian outfits only in the last leg of my trip when I was with my sister in Bhadoi. I went on a major traditional shopping haul and had to shoot something to bring back sweet sartorial memories from there.
It’s been ten days I got back home and it has either rained or snowed here in DC. It wasn’t what I was looking forward to post sunny Goa. I haven’t stepped out except to pick up daughter from school just a couple times. I don’t intend to step out this entire week as well. There is so much content due but my mind isn’t at the right place with this dreadful weather outside. So content creation will have to wait for a tad bit longer.
I wasn’t here during the peak holiday shopping and so I’m catching up by shopping all the post-holiday deals. I am getting packages every single day and I can’t wait to share all my deals and steals here. Till then stay vigilant, stay informed and stay safe!
