Honestly, I would have never cared for designer, high-end bags if it wasn’t for the industry I’m a part of now. I was happy with my mid-range Kate Spades, MKs and Coaches. It’s true that if we influencers are capable of giving shopping tendencies to others, we kinda get similar tendencies from other influencers.
Since I started my career later than I had expected, it took me some time to add designer pieces to my wardrobe. I did quite a bit of my R&D before buying my first bag. It even took me a lot of psychological mustering to come to terms with paying a chunk of my hard-earned money- but, it was worth every penny! Designer merchandise does need a financial commitment, but it is worthwhile!
My first splurge was the GUCCI MARMONT in pink, see here, here and here. I’ve had it for a five years now and it’s still one of my faves. If you are in the market for a designer bag and are looking to build a designer bag collection, this is the time. With Black Friday sales in full swing, this could be your chance to build your own designer bag collection.
Here are some simple things to remember that would catapult your designer bag curation….

BUDGET
Budget is the most important determinant of your next designer bag. Designer bags are a financial commitment and every element should be factored in wisely. ‘How much are you willing to shell out?’, ‘will you be buying it online’ or ‘paying for it in-store’: the budget and payment plan should be laid out ahead of time. Unless you are a Kardashian and can walk in and walk out of a store with bags full of designer bags, you certainly need a budget plan.
Lifestyle/PROFESSION
Your lifestyle and your profession plays an integral part in determining in the type, size, and style of bag you need. Whether you will be needing the bag for your work, your social life or going from desk to dinner. A designer bag is a big-ticket item and you definitely want to get one that fits your lifestyle. For someone in the medical field, a bag with logo in your face would be so unprofessional. So pay heed to your work/social life first before the big leap.
storage
Might sound irrelevant but trust me guys- you need a proper storage space for your designer possessions. It will be fashionably unacceptable for one to cram their designer duds in a tiny space. These could cause scratches on the leather and alter the shape too. Designate ample shelf space in your closet for your precious babies. Be it your designer shoes or your designer bags, make sure to put some sort of insert which will hold the shape and then stow them in their dust bags. You want your collection to last for your immediate next generation, if not forever!
R&D
Do enough research before you commit to a bag. Peruse the fashion editorials, browse retailer websites, place price alerts, borrow from your friend/neighbor to try out, do everything it takes to help you pick out your bag. It’s a huge commitment and no stone should be left unturned.

What a great dress, love the way you have styled it with the boots and handbag, such a gorgeous look on you. I have a few designer bags which I don’t tend to wear much – really need to put a stop to that. xx

I love your bag!
And I do love designer bags. I only started purchasing designer bags a few years ago.
And yes, I reach a place in life where they are a something that I can afford.
But, part of the fun is anticipation and dreaming.
I like to purchase one for a special occasion or on a trip as a remembrance.
No over-load here. I want to keep them special.
