We all own denim shorts but what’s different about Bermuda shorts? If you ask me, my simple response to that would be ” it is a pair of denim shorts but it fits loose and the hem is longer than your normal denim cutoff shorts.” It is not your regular denim shorts in simple layman’s terms.
This trend emerged in spring and I’m glad it is staying around for summer. If you are someone who likes wearing denim shorts but not always feel comfortable showing off too much skin then this style could be your jam. The longer hem, the baggy silhouette, what’s not to like about these babies??? It’s one hundred percent summer chic.
I was on the longest lookout for the right pair of denim bermuda shorts that were comfortable and that I could deem stylish. A pair that was loose but not too loose for my skinny thighs to feel like they were drowning in the bagginess. A pair that was forgiving and roomy enough for my mommy midsection. I tried a few pairs and some fit around the waist but were too loose was it down, others just didn’t feel right.
Thanks to Zara’s biannual sale, if it wasn’t on sale I wouldn’t have ordered the pair I’m wearing. I’m glad I did coz they just flatter my shape in all respects. It has a button fly front and it sits flat without any gaping. The length is perfect and so is the overall fit.
HOW TO STYLE DENIM BERMUDA SHORTS
Honestly speaking, these are by far the easiest style of denim shorts I’ve styled in my entire blogging career. They are so effortlessly chic. For someone who loves blazers, the easiest route was to throw on a blazer, a pair of heels and call it a day and that’s exactly what I did. I could have worn a t-shirt underneath the blazer but if you know me WELL- you will know I don’t do T-shirts.
GO CASUAL– for a more laid back look team these shorts with a not-so-fitted longer T-shirt. Tuck it in or leave it untucked, it’s entirely your call. For footwear I’m envisioning a pair of these slide sandals and this for the bag.
GO STREET CHIC– how does a button front shirt sound to you? I would absolutely wear these shorts with a button front shirt, either fully tucked in or half ticked in, a logo belt, and a pair of pumps or stilettos. More like street-style gone wild.
GO PREPPY– Well, my style would be more preppy. A blazer, a pair of slide heels, hair pulled back in a ponytail, and an oversized pair of sunglasses.

Your bright blazer is such a fun topper with the double denim outfit! 🙂 I love my Bermuda denim shorts too – definitely a more kid-friendly option when running around in the playground after my sons, haha!

I love the way you styled your denim Bermuda shorts. I am really liking the contrast between the cut off denim and a structured blazer. And your denim top is so much fun, too! Fabulous outfit!

I haven’t tried this trend yet because I hated how it looked on me in middle school in the 90s when it was last trending, I felt like it made my look massive and made me look shorter. BUT I clearly need to try this trend out again in my adult body because you are so right it is such a versatile trend and it’s so popular. I’m going to try some on this weekend!
