When I arrived in US, I was a total stranger to the stores and retailers out here. The only store that was my shopping Mecca was the old HECHT’S. It was two blocks from where I lived and I could walk to the store as I wasn’t driving then. I didn’t have many friends back then who would take me shopping or introduce me to the expansive world of shopping here.
Gradually, I made friends and we would go shopping every few weeks. My go-to stores back then were Target for everyday things and CVS and Walgreens for my beauty needs. I wasn’t too much into Sephora as the pharmacy brand products that I bought sufficed. It was more than what I needed to glam up for hubs… LOLS!1
But, then I became a blogger. Through blogger outreach platforms, bloggers and PR companies I was introduced to newer brands and stores. My database expanded and I became a Sephora addict. I became a Sephora insider, then a Sephora VIB and now acquired a Rouge status.
Despite, the vast world of beauty products I have been exposed to, I still find myself reaching out for pharmacy brand beauty, especially eye shadows and makeup brushes and tools. And why not- it is good quality and super affordable. Plus it was these brands that laid the foundation of my big beauty products empire. I used these brands to acquaint myself to the myriad options out there, I relied upon these affordable options to learn the correct usage techniques.
One such pharmacy brand that I loved was JOAH BEAUTY and when they reached out to me to try out their Holiday Glam-On kit: I couldn’t say no! Price at $30 for the holidays, this kit would make a perfect stocking stuffer.
