I went back and forth over posting/not posting the photos of this cocktail here, but the mixologist in me lashed out over the photographer in me and the former won. The photos are not at par with my posting standards, but the cocktail was so good- I had to share it, irrespective!
I’ve finally resumed shopping at Whole Foods in-person and it feels good to be in control of the quality of produce that comes to my home, which was just opposite and unsatisfactory with Instacart delivery. I appreciate what the grocery delivery services have been doing for us during the pandemic, but the quality of the produce being delivered was just not appreciated. I felt they were advised to pick out all the rejected/stale produce from the shelves and then deliver to the customers. Anyways, I am now a happy camper.
During my last visit to Whole Foods they had these pomegranates on sale and I couldn’t resist picking out a few. They were huge, plump, looked juicy and were such a vibrant red. Every time my eyes caught a glimpse of these red babies in my shopping cart, I was reminded of this pomegranate martini I used to enjoy at one of my favorite bars here in DC.
With bars and lounges now being history, I so wanted to make the martini at home. So, I picked out a bottle of fresh pomegranate juice and some rosemary sprigs for garnishing and rest is right here….
I had the other ingredients at home. I whipped this up last weekend and hubs and I enjoyed my favorite martini….my way – with some fresh pomegranate arils and salt and sprinkles on the rim.
The cocktail is super delicious and you are more than welcome to alter the quantities as per your liking.
