It’s Monday and while you are reading this, I’ll be at the beach basking my ass and letting all the sand in my hair, cuz why not- I am on vacay!!! We decided very last minute to make a quick weekend road trip down South and I will let you know if it was worth it in my next Random Thoughts and Things post.
This picture that you see below was short outside a brand new DC restaurant called GHOSTLINE DC. I was one of the privileged ones to try out this new concept streetery ( street + eatery ) located in the heart of Glover Park neighborhood. Named as the new future of dining, Ghostline DC is a collective of top chefs who have joined forces to bring the highest quality restaurant experience to us. Order a takeout or just mellow out in their courtyard ( no inside seating option); there are so many cuisines to choose from. From Japanese Ramen to Southern fried chicken or even Indian Khichdi, this place will make you feel home with all it’s culinary offerings.

I shared this outfit on my stories and asked my readers if they needed shopping links to any of the pieces and I had multiple requests for the leather blazer, the skirt, and the bag. My brother wanted the link to the male version ( if there was any ) of those sneakers and I have one for him right HERE ( hope he reads this post ). Anyways, that bag arrived as a recent International delivery from an Indian brand called CHAMAR which literally means ‘leather worker’. It refers to the lower caste of the Indian caste hierarchy whose main occupation is working with leather. I have to tell you- the leather quality and the craftsmanship is impeccable- totally worth the trouble of having it shipped from India. It is such a great color and good news- it comes in a a few other colors and sizes too. Check em out HERE as they ship WORLDWIDE.
I have been taking good care of my skin but no one can defy gravity especially when you are almost 40. I’ll be the big 40 soon and I am excited in general but sometimes my sagging skin, wrinkles around my eyes and some faint ones on my forehead just scare the heck out of me. I am okay with aging but my skin aging wouldn’t make me happy. A few of my friends do botox to restore some tightness but I am scared of that too. I know it’s a non-evasive medical procedure and I so want to try it but the tox ( toxins ) in botox ( Botulinum toxin) is the deal-breaker for me. Dermatologist claim there is no side effect/s of BOTOX and people have been getting treatments without any long term effects, but that ain’t enough for this momma. A lot more convincing would be needed here. So BOTOX or NO-BOTOX: the answer still remains a mystery. What do you think of it?
On a brighter more positive note- the schools are starting to open in our state and I’m kind of happy. Not for myself but for Riri cuz she definitely needs a break from being with us round the clock and needs more in-person interaction with humans her age. It has been over seven months she hasn’t seen her friends. We did go to her new school a couple times for outdoor play dates and that was it. However, since mommy is still a little wary we’ve decided to hold on to virtual school for another couple weeks to see how things play out at school and then decide. So yes, Madam Riri is returning back to campus but no, not when everyone returns, two weeks post that. Are your sending your kids to school?
