We’re all spending more time at home now with lots of spaces doubling as homeschooling centers and living rooms turning into home offices and recess areas, it has become all the more important to have clean, easy to navigate spaces. But, if your kids and furry-babies have MESSY as their middle name- you need to have a more effective cleaning system in place. Honestly speaking, it took me quite some time to figure out a cleaning system for my home. Pre-Covid, I had cleaning help come every few days, rearrange, organize, and leave my house spick and span.
But, now we all are on our own and I take full pride in saying that my house looks spotless and much more organized than ever. We as a family have unriddled the mystery of home-cleaning and I’m about to share the same with you.
1. Do it as a family
This works folks. We have designated our Saturday mornings to cleaning the house together as a family. We spend an hour roughly to make our house look spotless. We have assigned areas and tasks to each member and good thing- no one needs any supervision now. For instance, I am in charge of the kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom sinks, Riri does the dusting and hubs does the vacuuming. We play loud music, sing along and make this fun rather than a chore. It now feels less like a chore and more like a weekend family ritual.
2. Use fewer products
I am always on the lookout for multi-surface, multipurpose cleaning products that can go from my kitchen to bathroom to the dog’s mess. Having fewer products to work with makes cleaning a breeze and so much faster. I’m loving ART OF GREEN cleaning sprays and wipes for that matter. Art of Green is a new line of socially responsible household cleaning products that comes in both sprays and wipes. Easy on the pocket and around your house too, Art of Green products are 98% naturally derived, contain no harsh chemicals, are safe for use around kids and pets and smell amazing. With their Lavender Eucalyptus and Citrus and White Flowers fragrances, not only will they make your house smell amazing but also leave the surface spotless and streak-free. Their wipes are so handy, I keep them within hands reach around the house and in my car too- time to say goodbye to all the puppy messes.

3. Run your robot vacuum daily
I had never thought I would trust a robot vacuum with sweeping my floors. But, nothing picks up puppy hair better than my automatic robot vacuum. I run mine pretty much everyday, especially in the areas of highest traffic. This cuts my weekend sweeping time to almost half.
4. Use bins with name tags
With everyone at home now, we all are spending more time either at the dining table or in the living room turned home-office. There is stuff lying everywhere and I am the mama who likes spaces clutter free. So my hack for making sure that things get put back at the right spot at the end of the day- rattan bins labeled with names. I have five different bins labeled ‘DADDY, MOMMY, RIRI, MAZE, OTHERS’ sitting on my staircase. As and when I stumble on a thing I place it in the basket of the person to whom that item belongs. Right before bed the person picks up his/her bin, puts back the stuff to where it belongs and leaves the bin back on the steps for the next day. This way I don’t have to holler each time I see something out of its normal place. WIN-WIN for all!
These are just some of my cleaning hacks, do you have any?

Great cleaning tips! I have two very messy little boys and I simply cannot keep up with them! We switched to all organic cleaning products a few years ago and it was the best decision ever! Thankfully, my husband actually enjoys cleaning so I don’t do much of it!

These products look great! I’m always trying to buy more natural products – my husband happily uses cleaning sprays with harsh chemicals and I hate it. Cleaning seems to be a never ending job with a child!
