I don’t usually wear jeans cuz one- I don’t like how they look on my flat butt and two- I don’t own many pairs and whatever I own I’m pretty bored of wearing em over and over. So, when I saw these jeans HERE, first I got a sticker shock ( not really but I would never pay $$$ for a pair of seasonally trendy pair of jeans) and then I got an idea that would rock.
I thought what if I could DIY my old pair of jeans last seen HERE, HERE and HERE using these bleach pens? I was pretty hooked onto the bleached polka dot pattern, and was willing to sacrifice a pair of jeans in case anything went wrong. Surprisingly, this was the easiest DIY, but time-taking as you have to let the bleach dots dry out completely before you wash or draw on the flip side, project I’ve ever taken- it was so easy that even my daughter got tempted to bleach her old pair of jeans and relatively she did a great job.
Things You Will Need
- an old pair of jeans that still fits
- some kitchen towels
- some old bed sheet or plastic sheet to cover and protect the work surface
- clorox bleach pens ( I used 4 for my jeans )
Steps
- cover the work surface with plastic sheet.
- now lay your jeans flat and insert some dry paper towel between the legs to avoid bleach from transferring to other side.
- now decide the design you would like to make- in my case polka dots.
- first draw dots on one side, let it try till it crackles.
- now draw on the other side, let that dry too.
- once the other side has dried, run your jeans through a wash cycle without any soap.
- let it air dry.
- your new DIY pair is ready.
