Can’t believe this year went by so fast, just seven more days and we shall be ringing in 2020. From a family tragedy to traveling across the globe in summer, from me quitting my day job to getting naturalized, this year was sure eventful. The worst was having to quit my full time job this June due to unethical payments practices, which kind of took a toll on my mental health. I quit my job under the stressful circumstances and soon after I kind of lost my other sources of income too. My blog suddenly took a 360 turn and I stopped getting any paid campaigns. Even a couple brands I was working with on an ongoing basis pulled back and I was left with just a handful of in-kind partnerships. I was clueless and felt so helpless. It was so depressing. At that point the only way I could keep my sanity was by convincing myself to believe that it was a just bad omen and situations would soon turnaround.
I am glad I was able to go to India post the job situation and spend quality time with my family and keep myself occupied with things that I was missing when I worked multiple jobs. Blog situation hasn’t gotten any better but I am a firm believer of Karma and I know if I haven’t done no wrong, nothing wrong will happen to me. It is God’s way to prepare us for life.
Anyways, there is no denying that I worked with some amazing Local, National and International brands earlier this year. I feel blessed that I was the chosen one for those campaigns and I am really thankful to God, my sponsors and you all for believing in me. I have narrowed down my 2019 partnership list to my top seven, see below.
Melrose Georgetown Hotel
This was my favorite hotel staycation in Q1. Melrose is a local hotel and definitely a must-visit for people looking for a more relaxed and book-centric vibe. We stayed there for a night and the suite was just ahhhmazing. Read the full feature HERE.
Intercontinental Times Square NY
Another hotel collab in Q3 that I thoroughly enjoyed. We drove to NY, stayed at the Intercontinental Times Square hotel for two nights and just treated ourself to the Times Square view from the 30th floors throughout our stay. The hotel, the hospitality, the food, the location, everything was phenomenal. Read the full feature HERE.
Rio Lakefront
I work with a lot of local properties and real-estate PR to promote their real estate. One such fun partnership was with Rio Gaithersburg here in Maryland. Being able to work with the local recreational places that I always visited with family especially for Bollywood movies and dinner made this partnership worth saying yes to. Check out the post HERE.
Disney Cinderella
This collab was for my daughter. We were invited to the induction ceremony of Cinderella at the National Library of Congress here in DC. We watched the first cinderella movie from almost 50 years ago and the after party was a ball… literally. I created a short video from the event that you could check out HERE.
Rent The Runway
I had the opportunity to work as an Ambassador for RTR in Q1 and Q2. Rent the Runway launched their first ambassador program here in DC and I was invited to become an ambassador. Being able to rent designer clothes that I would generally not even consider buying was an experience. Unfortunately I had to withdraw from this partnership as my FIL passed away and I had to travel to India for an indefinite time. Read more about this program and partnership right HERE.
Happy X Nature
This partnership in Q3 was such an experience. I did a sweepstake post for Happy x Nature and featured some of their pieces. Their clothing is amazing and their story behind their clothing is even more amazing. Their clothing inculcates a sense of responsibility towards our natural resources and I was completely sold. Check out my blog post HERE.
Odd Molly
Considering the amount of work and effort I put into my collabs and regular posts, I give first preference to paid opportunities. But there are times when you have to let go off the money aspect and partner up for mutual benefit with brands. One such collab I did in Q4 was with Odd Molly. They have a unique story and that’s what clicked. The dress that you see on me is from Odd Molly and they have really unique clothing that I would highly recommend checking out HERE.
These are my top seven brand partnerships of 2019. Looking forward to the New Year, a new beginning both in personal and professional life. Hope the new year brings some good omen and good partnership opportunities with it.
Congratulations to Elke of Ellibelle’s Corner, she is the featured blogger of the week.

I am sorry to hear about your FT job. That's a bummer but it's probably a blessing in disguise considering what your health had to go through. Congratulations on these collaborations. How awesome! I love your Odd Molly dress. It is such a beauty and yes I too believe in karma. Hang in there and just keep chugging. You are doing a great job! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
