Located in the heart of Times Square NY, I found my perfect midweek getaway at the InterContinental Times Square. Granted, when you first walk into the resplendent lobby, it will take you a minute to take it all in. The mosaic floor work, the ornate walls, the fountain view behind the reception and the opulence of everything around transports you right into Asian royalty. The minute I walked in, I was welcomed by the hostess who was dressed to impress. I knew right away that we were going to get along well.

My check-in was a breeze and I was escorted by the bell boy to my room. A deluxe suite with two queen-size beds and the most spectacular sky view awaited- really I couldn’t have asked for anything better. For an avid reader, the city view would have been an ideal little hideout, but the kind of social media maniac I am- I was looking at this view from the gram-perspective….uhhhh!
Anyways, I stayed at the InterContinental hotel for two nights and my experience was nothing short of aha moments. In case you are heading out to New York anytime soon and looking for hotel recommendations : ” BOOK NOW” as IHG Rewards Club members save 15%. Besides the early-bird discounts, I’ve rounded up five other reasons you should consider InterContinental Times Square for your next getaway.
LOCATION– who wouldn’t want to stay at the finest of hotels, in the heart of NY, and with the most spectacular view?? Located at Times Square, InterContinental gives you the convenience of access to the top-things to do and see at Times Square. Broadway, downtown and all the touristy things are literally a stone’s throw away from the hotel. If that wasn’t enough- how about the 44th st. Subway station that is next door to the hotel’s entrance??
HOSPITALITY– A hotel’s staff and service quality have become one of the most important factors for gaining a sustainable competitive advantage and customers’ confidence in the highly competitive marketplace and InterContinental didn’t fail at all. From doorman, to bell boy, to receptionists, to room-service, everyone was courteous and the overall service was impeccable. I needed some props for my photoshoot and the staff was uber patient and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking seven-star service for five-star prices.
RESTAURANT– InterContinental Times Square has an on-site restaurant ‘ THE STINGER ‘ that opens as early as 6 AM and closes at 1 AM. Grab a bite or just a couple of cocktails at the bar- Stinger is always a smashing idea. The hotel offers 24 hours in-room dining, so there is no way you are going hungry anytime soon. Imagine returning late from after a Broadway show and treating yourself to some piping hot food- I am all about it!
FITNESS/SPA– While cardio and full-blown workout is the last thing on my mind when on a vacation, I don’t mind hitting the gym for a benchpress or some weights. InterContinental boasts of a fitness center that is equipped with state-of-the-art equipments and music system for a workout that is everything but boring. While InterContinental does not have a Spa on-site, they do have a tie-up with a spa that can at your request send a masseuse to your room for a personalized massage. Now that’s what I call a vacation.
COZY BED– It’s all about a good night sleep when on a vacation and this girl slept like a baby, got her beauty sleep both the nights. The mattress was super comfortable and so was the pillow. Wish I could bring the bed, and the staff and the yummy food home with me…. alas!!

Ive lived in NY for a year and never got to experience it. I’ve walked passed this hotel numerous times and never took a second look to check it out. After reading your post, I’m definitely going to give it a second look and experience a staycation and may recommend it to my relative when they visit me.
