Hubs- “Are those your yoga shorts?”
Me-” Nope, they are my bike shorts turned fashion shorts.”
I am all about fashion and function. I shop for pieces that categorize as essentials but come through as fashion must-haves sartorially. For instance these bike shorts made their way to my closet primarily to be worn at the gym, but I found myself itching to wear it is a pair of fashion shorts. In case you didn’t get the memo, bike shorts were a thing this past summer which now have been taken over by bermuda shorts for fall. As a responsible fashion blogger who believes in bringing you the latest and greatest style trends in a timely manner, I’ve ordered these bermuda shorts and can’t wait to style them for you as soon as they arrive.
However, the topic of discussion today is not ‘Athleisure’ ( read this post in case you wish to learn more about this trend from the past ), I am here to give my two cents on yet another fall trend – Burnt Orange.
ZARA blazer // ISAAC MIZRAHI for Target blouse ( shop same ) // URBAN OUTFITTERS bike shorts ( shops same ) // CHARLES AND KEITH heels
Burnt orange is fashion’s IT color of 2019 that is popping up everywhere. It was all over NYFW and fashionistas left no stones unturned to bring out the most spectacular looks featuring this color. While I never got a chance to showcase my street style outfit during fashion week, I took the liberty to present this look right here.
My first approach were the nails. I am usually a blue, green kind of person but this time Burnt orange happened by chance. It was a random pick and it seemed to work. So tip #1– go for a manicure in the color of the season. It is probably your safest bet at trying out a particular color trend.
Next were the sunglasses. Truth be told, I had a deep shade of yellow on mind when ordering these pairs. It was definitely a bolder move for someone who likes to play it safe. But I am not sorry… I love how they are a shade of deep orange. So tip #2– try accessories in the color of the season. Think bags, scarves, necklaces. Post manicure, it would be your second safest bet.
My last approach was that shirt. Well, Mr. Mizrahi did complete justice to both the burnt orange and hot pink color trends of fall 2019. He mixed the two colors and came out with the coolest two-tone silk blouse, that is right up my alley. I am obsessed with the length and the fit ( which BTW fits large, so size down- I am wearing an XS for reference ). So tip #3 – go bold or go home. Just go for a piece of clothing item in the color of the season. Be it a shirt, a sweater, a skirt, a dress or even a pair of pants, you’ll definitely find something to your liking.
How are you planning to incorporate this color into your fall wardrobe?
