We all are no strangers to the sartorial woes that winter brings with it, and if the winter is brutal, then jeans and layering in thick clunky coats and boots becomes your everyday uniform….BORING !! But, if you are a fashion maven, then you would have definitely figured out a way by now to dress up in extreme weather, without any compromise on STYLE ! Well, I am no exclusion to this and today I will be sharing some ways you can break the winter jeans rut by shaking things up a bit.
THINK PRINTS: well-well, talk to me about prints and I could write my own book on it, but for now: let’s just keep it to the outfit. Prints are a great way to jazz things up a bit. Think printed sweaters, printed blouses, printed shoes, printed knit scarves or even a printed jumpsuit like this one, which is relatively thick, one-piece-owner, warm and stylish.
ADD TEXTURES: when I say texture, I mean fur, leather, quilt, wool, anything that makes your outerwear anything but boring is welcomed. Personally, I like a leather bomber jacket that is edgy and fashionable too.
PLAY WITH COLORS: need I say that ” nothing breaks a fashion rut better than COLORS.” Consider colored accessories, shoes, boots, handbags, and tights to everyone’s surprise. Colored tights effortlessly add that punch of color to any boring winter outfit. Overcoats in cheery colors are is a great way to break up the winter sartorial boredom.
THINK OUT OF THE BOX: everyone wears a winter hat or a cap, but seldom do people try new hat trends. For instance berets have been a huge trend for a few years now and I am embracing it to the max. Initially I was reluctant to even trying this trend, but after spotting it on my favorite DC babes, I caved in and now ‘I am obsessed’. Fur earmuffs are also a great way to shake things up a bit. When in the market for an ear muff, stray away from black and gray and try out a mint or even a blush one. It won’t hurt!
