As much as I love my western clothing, I never miss a chance to show some love to my Indian traditional clothing as well! Honestly speaking, I don’t have much of traditional clothing, the lack of occasions to wear em as often justifies my situation, but whatever I have I try to repurpose them to create different outfits. For instance my custom made Dhoti-Kurta that I wore to NYFW last September with the mirrored embellished vest, post HERE, couldn’t look any chicer than when paired with that belted banarasi dupatta ( stole ) and stilettos.
My mom gifted me that dupatta ( stole ) last year and I had been looking for ways to incorporate that in my outfit. I did wear it once on a religious occasion with a sari, but for a self proclaimed closet-repurposing-queen i.e moi, it was of paramount importance to style the stole in multitudinous ways. I knew I wanted to pair the hot pink dupatta with something white, but the belt and coordinating sandals were impromptu and I didn’t seem to mind them at all. It kind of elevates the look from being traditional to edgy-traditional…….which I like……..what about you?
