Disclosure: The brushes were gifted to me by MyMakeupBrushSet.com. All opinions and views are my own.
Gone are the days when with just a couple of brushes, one could achieve the desired makeup look. It has now become a common practice to use at least a handful of brushes to take any makeup look up to the next level. Well, I am guilty of the former. I would use just a couple makeup brushes and feel on top of the world. But with the ever-evolviong beauty trends, I had to step up my techniques, which led to the discovery of the oval brushes. Thanks to MyMakeupBrushSet for sending across this oval brush set my way, I am really pleased with the results !
As much as I was excited about receiving the brush set, the minute I opened this MyMakeupBrushSet , I was thrilled but instantly my excitement diminished, coz I felt lost. I had no clue which brush was used for what part of the face. My sole purpose now was to equip myself with the right know-how of the brushes, which I apparently did and today I am sharing the same knowledge with you, through Part one of the two part series: the first one being the brush uses and the second being the actual makeup application. So stay tuned…….
1) Foundation Brush – use this all over the face for applying liquid foundation.
2) Blush Brush – this one is for the apple of your cheeks.
3) Powder Brush – this one is for all over the face, for applying powder.
4) Concealer Brush – use it only on the dark spots, any scar or blemish that you need to cover up.
5) Contour Brush – this one works best for contouring the cheeks and temple. Not a good option for the nose and slimmer areas though.
6) Eye Shadow Brush – I would say this one is perfect for the crease line and outer corner of the eyes.
7) Eyebrow Brush – need fuller eyebrows??? Use this eyebrow brush for filling in those eyebrows.
8) Eyeliner Brush – I swear this one is my favorite. Works best with gel eyeliners.
9) Face Blender Brush – this one might be too small for blending the larger areas, but works great for area around the eyes and nose.
10) Eye shadow Brush – this one doubles up as the face blender brush and eyeshadow brush.
This is how I like to use my oval brushes, do you use them differently or in any other unique way of your own ???
