The day you become a mom, your life changes….undeniably.
Your priorities change, your responsibilities multiply, the hours in your day start to fall short and you are no more “YOU. ” Not only this, every celebratory moment in your life becomes confined to your husband and kid. You become more focused on celebrating your child’s bday, farewell, graduation and his/her accomplishments. And why not, your mom, your grandmom, all have done it and you should be doing it too, with all grace and happiness.
But sometimes, you need that self-celebration as a mom and time to hit the refresh button. To give hundred percent towards your role and role model as a mom, as a wife, as a daughter-in-law, you need to give yourself some time off, you need to reboot your system. Doesn’t have to be anything elaborate, but little things that can rejuvenate you. For instance a spa day, hitting the pool by yourself, going for a coffee date with your girlfriends, or if you are a little too adventurous, then enjoying your birthday in a hotel room with your girlfriends and sipping on some fine wine..
Next week is my birthday and this year I decided to kick off the celebrations a little early. Past weekend my girlfriends Patricia , Marisol and I checked into The Carlyle for a short afternoon staycation. We had some yummy food c/o The Carlyle Hotel DC, did lots of chit-chatting and since it was a super hot day and some chilled wine was definitely called for………..
So hold your breath ladies and gentleman….. and keep scrolling down for some uncensored pics and a video from my pre-birthday celebration and remember: “whatever happens at The Carlyle DC stays at The Carlyle DC….”
