Thanks Wente Vineyards for making this post possible.
Dear Mrs. Shiohare
Hope this letter finds you well.
This letter is to bring to your attention that you have put in your cent percent to be a good soul, a good wife, a good mom, a good cook, a good cleaner, a good home-decorator, a good caregiver, a good employee, a good money-manager and a good blogger and I must say that you are doing a good job so far. I know that you sometimes get anxious and have gazillion random thoughts running across your mind, but your feeling is legitimate. When you have so many roles to play, a little pressure is justifiable.
But remember that “being a role-model is tough but not impossible. ” You don’t need to be a perfectionist, just a little control of yourself and your actions and everything falls in place. Also, you should remember that:
- it is okay to sometimes ignore things and stop being a control-freak
- it is okay if your family eats cereals for breakfast
- its is okay if your daughter wears mismatched socks under her jeans
- it is okay to leave uncleaned dishes overnight
- it is totally okay if your unfolded laundry sits on the bed for a week
- it is okay if your bed isn’t made until bedtime
- it is okay if your daughter misses her after school, extracurricular activities once in a while- you can’t be everywhere.
- it is okay to take some downtime aka some me-time
- it is okay to not look put together all the time
- it is okay to occasionally indulge in a spa or a shopping spree
- it is okay to have a girls night out or in
- it is okay to let go mean comments and mean people
- it is human nature to expect but is is advisable to keep your expectations low
- it is okay to eat unhealthy sometimes AND
- it is totally okay to wear red lips during the day
