A little late, but spring is finally here in DC and I couldn’t have been any happier. The temperature in the last couple of days was in the upper 70’s and everyone finally seems to be emerging from the brutal winter, that kind of lasted for longer than forecasted.
The arrival of spring also marks the arrival of fresh trends and newer silhouettes. This transitional weather, is warmer than winter, but cooler than summer, making dressing up a little more challenging. You want to wear your summer dresses, but the evening chill bars you from doing so. Despite that little chill, it is now safe to bid farewell to your thicker, warmer winter wear, for the season. Ideally at this point light knit cardigans/sweaters, cute spring dresses, bomber jackets/ kimonos make their way to the forefront of people’s closet. The best part is that every year, the aforementioned go through a major style metamorphosis, making dressing-up challengingly fun. For instance upgrades like sweaters with lacy backs, crocheted shoulders and sleeves, super deep-v-back dresses and tops, plunging necklines and sort, make spring clothing anything but boring.
If you are like me and loving all those deep back tops and dresses this season, then’ what to wear underneath these’ should surely be your present concern. Well, the answer to the above is bralets. A bralette is the little sister of an underwire bra. With fancy lace cups and flimsy shoulder straps and sexy back straps and the least amount of padding, there is a bralette for every occasion. Wear this with you gym tank or this under your favorite deep neck dress- you’ll be hooked once you try them.
I have put together a few different looks you could rock a bralette this spring/summer.
