The entire blogging community is drowned with denim cutoff shorts, off-the-shoulder tops and mini dresses but there is something about an easy-breezy midi kimono dress thats makes me choose the latter over former. This inclination might be an outcome of my fascination for unclinging flowy Indian silhouette, but be it what- I am totally digging this Mango kaftan dress.
Initially, I was on the fence about this dress, but thanks to the 50% sale, it made me cave in. I’m glad I bought it. This dress is lightweight, fun and above all: printed. It is unlined and might need a slip inside, but one could get away with wearing neutral undergarments.
- the versatility of a kaftan dress is undeniable- dress it up with a pair of heels, preferably an ankle strap if it’s a midi length, and a pair of flat gladiator sandals for a more casual look. Need another reason to own it ????- “how about wearing it as a beat cover up ….”
- play up your shape with a waist belt. A sash belt or an OBI belt would be a good accentuating play with this fun dress.
- a kaftan is definitely a summer staple, but for the cooler temps, throw over a pashmina or a knit stole for that extra element of warmth. A jacket or a waist could be tricky with the kimono sleeves if the dress has one.
- with shorter-hemmed kaftan dresses, a pair of skinny jeans or even a girlfriend jeans would be chic way to channel some cool vibe. Finish with a few layered necklaces and you are all set to paint the town red !!!
