A slip dress might seem a bit indtimidating to few, blame it on the boudoir vibe it projects, but it is definitely a must-have and a must-try this season. It took me some time to warm up to this trend, but I am loving it now! The ease and comfort of a slip dress is undeniable.
It is still too cold in DC to break out all your body-baring, strappy, strapless clothing. You could definitely tell this from my wind-blown hair and the mustard leather jacket, whose sole purpose was to keep me warm. But that treacherous weather can’t stop me from wearing, not a whole lot, but a little skin-baring clothing- and a slip dress is certainly one of ’em.

- So when the weather is cold, a jacket is the warmest bet. A denim jacket, a bomber or even a leather moto could go well. I chose- a leather moto. A leather moto definitely adds that edge to an otherwise uber feminine slip dress. By juxtaposing two styles: tough meets chic is just what I wanted to bring out in this look.
- Another way to beat the cold, would be by layering your slip dress over a fitted T-shirt. A full sleeve blouse would steal the delicateness of the dress, so a fitted short-sleeve tee, would be an eye-appealing pick.
- A pair of strappy heels and some statement-making earrings keep the feminine vibe going. In my case the leather earring and the tassel heels are two strong contenders, but the overall look is cohesive and on-point.
- In a warmer weather, wear the slip dress just by itself. Still a little shy?? No problem, a vest could be your sartorial BFF.
On a side note, I am hosting my first shopping party tomorrow at +Specs New York, and you all are invited.
Congratulations to Shauna of lipgloss and lace, she is the featured blogger of the week.
