INTRO TO THE ITEM OF INTEREST
Supposedly, black is not a summer color, but when worn with other cool hues and in summer-friendly fabrics, the outfit options become limitless. You basically get a run for your money by being able to use some of your black clothing pieces well into this warmer weather.
I had been on the fence about this BR skirt, and every time I was at the store, I would pretend not to see it. Truth be told, there’s nothing wrong with the skirt, it fits and feels great: but pertaining to the fact that my closet needed some color-love, I was just refraining from adding another black and white midi skirt to my closet. But when I recently spotted it on the sale rack, I couldn’t resist trying it on. Plus the additional 40% off sale, lured me in to giving this skirt a shot.
FIT AND WORKABILITY
The classic A-line cut of the skirt makes it suitable for all body types. The thick band at the waist helps accentuate your the waist. The fabric is thick knit, twirl-able, of a good quality and the skirt fits true to size. I am usually a 4 or 6 in skirts, but I bought this one in a 6, just for that extra room for tucking shirts in.
STYLING OPTIONS
You could never go wrong in B&W anything. Pair it with any color, any silhouette, you would never be disappointed. Not sure if this skirt could pass for an office-wear, but wear it for casual-Friday, and you are guaranteed to knock everyone’s sock off. Pair it with a tank or a tee, options are endless.
I wanted to add some summer-vibe to this skirt, hence the floral tank, pink bag and open-toe heels . Showing-off my not-so-tiny waist ( all pun intended ) was the sole intention behind wearing that OBI belt. Inadvertently I covered another #SSTrend2015 : the OBI ( judo belt ). The jacket is totally optional, but what would a girl who loves mixing prints do?? So I had to throw in another element of interest.
Congratulations to Jan of Janmloves , she is the featured blogger of the week.
