Never in my wildest sartorial dreams had I imagined that I would try a trend, despite all my inhibitions. I had seen other bloggers do it and always wished I could do it too. Wearing a jacket over another jacket seems to have been a prevalent layering technique amongst the trendier but the whole idea of bulking up threw me off.
My first few attempts at layering jackets were a complete miss, but thanks to the I-have-to-get-it-right-bug, I never gave up. I would try layering jackets with full sleeves together, but adding bulk was all it did to my arms and upper half. But contrary to the result of other trials, today’s effort didn’t go in vain. This day was different in the sense, that today I layered a vest over a blazer and the outcome- ” it worked!” The way the vest fits over the blazer, nobody would know they are two different pieces. The mix of colors, the cut, the lengths, all look so made-for-each-other kinds.
So what I figured out for the rule of thumb here, is to keep the proportions synonymous and to choose pieces that are well-fitted and shapely. If I could make it work for me, you could do it too. Try it, and you’ll be amazed!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
XO
