In the past, Mac studio fix and Clinique have been my go-to foundations, but it was time, I needed a foundation upgrade. With an aim at getting something that provided a medium coverage, was smooth to apply and also worked well with the light and camera, I picked up this . I bought the shade N 153. The sales associate recommended I bought a shade darker than what I am now, mainly for 2 reasons- first I am tanned now and will continue to tan in the summer to a shade darker and second, when taking pictures the flash reflects light and makes one appear a shade lighter, so getting a shade darker would counterbalance this complexion variation. It retails for $42, I know its slightly higher for a foundation but a good base provide you the most desirable canvas for make up application. I have used this a few times now, and I am all head over heels and completely satisfied with my purchase.
I can swear by this finishing powder. This is my second box, and there will be more in future. It looks white in the container, but trust me, when you sweep it on your skin, it blends and disappears. As advertised, it successfully controls shine all day long. It is one-size-fits all, meaning anyone with any skin color can use it. It comes in a couple of sizes and depending on the size, it can retail between $17 and $34. Totally worth the money. !!!
When it comes to blushes, I always tend to gravitate towards pinks and peaches. I have never gone this dark as this. The shade is called apricot sheen and is enriched with some shimmer shine. It can be used both as a bronzer and a blush.
I picked up not one but two. One Kat Von D A-GO-GO ( coral red ) and other NARS Schiap ( hot pink ). Both give a matte finish and are true to their name. Kat Von D sells for $19 and Nars for $ 26.
Talking about one, I am a sucker for nude lip liners. I don’t believe in buying lip liners to match with your lipstick, coz to me it’s just another additional item in my stash of items that will be hard to locate when time. So, I prefer to buy a nude shade, that goes with any color lipstick/lip stain. The trick is to line, smudge and then apply lipstick.
