Is it wrong to be a trend-forecaster sometimes????? What if I hold onto some clothing items considering it would come back in fashion some day and end up with a closet corner full of old clothing items that date back to my college years.????
Well I don’t look at it as a hoarding syndrome but a way to embrace what you have and what you love.
One such item that has stood the test of time and the rapidly changing fashion is the denim shirt I am wearing today. And BTW denim in all colors , lengths and silhouettes is the most sought after on the spring 2013 trend radar.. Anyhoo, I bought it back in 2001 and even after 12 years of numerous travelling (cross continents ), barbaric laundering and mishandling it continues to dress me up. It was and is sure a keeper.

Back in my college days my sartorial selection was too predictable – I would always wear this denim shirt with some boot cut jeans and flat shoes. Taking risks in styling this shirt was not in my books . But today 11 years, 7 months later I was ready to break free from my safety cocoon. I took a chance and mixed two very opposite styles – lace ( ultra feminine) and denim ( tough masculine) and called it an OUTFIT. To celebrate the first day of spring I opted to wear my tomato red stilettos which also successfully adds the perfect feminine color pop to this juxtaposed outfit. Since the shirt and the skirt are the focus of today’s look, I went minimalistic on the use of accessories. The only adornment used is the gold cuff bracelet and the no fuss black clutch.
I wouldn’t have considered putting this look together but thanks for a blogger friend MARION, with whom I am linking up today for her LACE link up party. As I am thrilled to be a part of this link up party, I am nervous too regarding your reviews of this look. My readers and their feedback means so much to me. So feel free to give your honest views on this look and suggest ways I could have worn the lace and denim together.
