DC fashion week, South Asian designers
I was lucky enough to snag a couple of last minute tickets to the DC fashion week , south Asian designers showcasing , at Indique heights , one of the finest Indian restaurants in the DC metro area. (Once again my partner in crime was my friend Nusrat. ). It was my first ever event of the kind. There were lights, cameras, press, a ramp, ladies clad in beautiful clothes, models and yes offcourse alluring clothes to showcase. There were Indian and Pakistani designers , who have been living in the States for some time now. I must admit a few of them bedazzled the audience with their outstanding and intricate work. I liked one ( have the picture below) outfit to the limit where I could not even wait for the model to walk down the ramp and make it mine…..but I changed my mind later and let it go. The dresses looked ravishing on the white models, and a few of them I spoke to wouldn’t have any hang ups wearing them everyday. (Sorry guys, I could not get a whole lot of ramp pictures as my camera was giving me a hard time setting wise)… Well now I guess I should get back to my roots and traditions and wear more Indian pieces.
As for my outfit, I chose to go with a monochromatic look, all clad in blue- blue dress, blue trench. Since I wanted to keep the focus on my burgundy lips, I kept the rest of my makeup simple and chic and for the shoes one could never go wrong with a classic black pumps.
FYI , I did not buy anything coz I know I would not wear them as often. But yes to prove my appreciation for good and hard work I have some pictures for you. So enjoy and let me know what you guys think……love you all !!!!
