Denim wide leg culottes and frayed hem has been a rage this spring, but somehow it never appealed to me- honestly, I actually never found the right pair. It’s not that I went cold-shoulder over this trend, but after numerous failed attempts at finding the perfect fit and denim length, I caved in. Apparently as a fashion blogger, I should be trying out new trends to give my insights into the same to my curious audiences, but occasionally there are trends that never make that sartorial breakthrough for me. This was one trend I knew I’d never bring up, until I found this one past week and rest is history !
The choker trend was another trend I would have never tried, simply for the getting-strangled-thoughts, that sort of always haunt me. But having a wrap bracelet paid off. I recycled it as a bracelet and voila!!!
So if there is any trend you are not sure of, keep reading for my hacks on how to ease into that trend, without get overwhelmed:
- I would suggest not to buy a trend piece at first go. Scour through your closet before hitting the stores- you might lay your hands on something that can be recycled for that trend piece. For instance I used my gifted leather wrap bracelet as a choker. Money spent- nada !
- If nothing comes of your closet then raid your trendier bestie’s closet- beg, borrow or steal, if you need to. If yo find an item you think could be fit for that trend, give it a shot. You definitely don’t want to bring something home, just to wear it once, coz beau- did it go out of fashion !!!
- Always remember the three-outfit rule. If you could instantly come up with three different looks around that clothing item, then go for it. But if you have to struggle curating three looks, then let it go! I’ve already worn these denim culottes three times past week, so they certainly passed the test.
- Pair them with neutrals. So when in doubt, balance your look with a neutral. My black top and beige shoes in this look certainly help keep the overall look streamlined.
- When you’ve become cent percent sure of that trend and feel ready to take the plunge- go for it!! Inspiration ideas ???- Pinterest is there …
