Can’t believe May is coming upon us so fast. It feels like yesterday when we rang in 2016 and look -“we are approaching the mid of this year.” Whatsoever, it’s finally starting to feel like spring and my allergies are indefinitely in full bloom….;)

May is a month special to all Mom’s and their kids: well, you guessed it right- it’s Mother’s day this month. It’s not that moms need a special day to celebrate motherhood, being a mom itself is a lifelong celebration. But this one day of the 365 days, at least moms get things the way they prefer. Believe it or not our kids just want to travel that extra mile in making us mom’s feel special. Even if it’s for a day, mom’s get the attention they deserve and every mom thoroughly welcomes all the celebration that follows.

Another bonus to this day: you get to dress up. It’s really personal though: some mom’s like to keep it low key, have a quiet day to themselves and enjoy a good home-cooked meal by family. But if you are the outgoing kinds like me: one who loves to be out enjoying a meal by your favorite restaurant, then today’s post will sure resonate with you tastes. Trust me ladies, you don’t have to put in hours to look fab- a dress that fits you like a glove, a killer pair of comfy heels and a swipe of your favorite lipstick is all you need to look and feel fab.

This Ann Taylor lace dress had been on my wish list for a while: honestly, it was the whopping price tag of $198 that wasn’t fitting my bill. I decided to wait on this dress coz Ann Taylor is one store favored for all it’s weekly sales and I was pretty sure this dress would go on sale any day. As if the Gods of shopping were listening to my secret prayers, not only this dress but all the full-priced dresses were marked down to $75, just for that entire week. So without any further ado, I headed straight to my closet Ann Taylor store, opened an Ann Taylor credit card and brought this baby home for a mere $40. A win-win for my wallet and a perfect Mother’s day gift to myself.

This one’s more dressier, but I could totally see myself wearing this dress more casually with a pair of cute espadrilles and a denim jacket. Hair tied in a ponytail and a thin strand of necklace could work too.
