Confession: with skinny legs comes skinny ankles and calves and a tonne of other struggles.
For instance :
1) Ankle straps always fit loose– shoes with ankle straps are not a skinny ankle’s BFF. If there are extra eyelets, then it is doable but otherwise a hole punch is a must. In most cases the ankle straps fit loose and I have to either get eyelets punched or do it myself.
2) Finding the right pair of tall boots is a struggle– I own just about four pairs of tall boots. Well, for a shoeaholic, just four pair brings a lot of self-shame, but what to do ” finding something to fit close to the ankle is a struggle in reality“. Usually the boots, especially the OTK boots won’t fit around the ankle, they bunch and make the calves look saggy and sloppy. Trust me, most of the times I just give up, but when the boots fit: I snag them right away.
3) I can never go trendy – last season lace-up heels was huge, but tragedy-stricken: I could not indulge in it a lot as the lace ties wouldn’t stay. They would loosen up and eventually untie. This season is about skinny ankle booties. Though they fit snug around the ankles, my ankles and legs look all the more skinny and off-proportion against the broad shoulder. Now that’s a whole different issue, which I could discuss in another post, but today it’s definitely the shoe problem that needed to be addressed.
The list could go on and on, but let’s just stick to the problems of the first world. How many problems do you empathize with ?
