Fall fashion always gets me dreaming of light layers and knee-high boots. By light layers I mean knit sweaters, pullovers, gilets and my all time favorite: capes !
- As much as I love a good cape, it has all the potential to make one look frumpy, specially when layered over another thicker warm piece. A stretch belt can be your ally when trying to give a more tapered look to your cape.
- When buying a cape, go for one that hits right below the hip. Anything shorter would add more bulk to the top half making you look frumpish.
- Pair your cape with other fitted silhouettes like a pair of jeans, a-line skirts or even a pair of trousers- all these would look fab.
- Look for one that is reversible, meaning one you could wear either ways. This one that I am wearing is solid black on the inside versus chevron on the outside. I love wrapping it more like a shawl, so that the inside shows as well.
