Well, fall might not have gotten the memo yet, but I am so looking forward to it and some cooler temps cuz this girl LOVES her boots and light layers. I am a sucker for boots and I am glad that I live in a place where there are options abound. Growing up in winter was brutal back in India, but boot options were so limited and mostly for men. In retrospect, I did not even have access to trendy stuff as I hailed from a small non-metropolitan town. But never mind, we were still happy, smart, stylishly-dressed kids…thanks to my mommy darling!
Whatever is up with this capricious weather, I am wearing my boots and in anticipation of the soon-to-be-here fall in true feel, I am sharing with you some of the must have fall boot trends: ranging from patchy to thigh highs and everything in between.

Cozy and casual
Every girl needs a pair of comfy, casual, go-to boots. Preferably in black or tan, every girl must have these everyday, trustworthy boots. Put an end to the chase for boring ugly shoes that pass as comfy in your dictionary. Comfy does not have to be boring and ugly. For that matter, I am loving these Cole Haan boots that are undeniably chic, stylish and comfy-looking.
Slouchy boots
I wasn’t surprised to find out that slouchy boots were a comeback trend this fall. It has been on the trend list for a few years now and this year was no exception. A trend that is flattering and best-suited for skinnier calf girls like me. It gives a little muscle like illusion to the skinny calves. I own a couple pairs of slouchy boots and can’t wait to wear em when the weather cools down further.
Thigh high boots
Honestly, one of the most trickiest but the hottest trend every fall is the thigh-high-boot. Not just knee highs, boot’s shaft is reaching new heights this season- we call em thigh high! I find myself particularly attracted to this trend in particular cuz the boots are no longer the top-tie option, but they have a whole lot of stretch, making them slip-proof. In case you are feeling a bit extravagant shop for these beauties.
Cowboy boots
Girl oh girl!!!! Can someone please teach me how to wear cowboy boots without looking like I just walked out of a ranch…..phew! There is nothing wrong in looking like a chilled-out rancher, but it is just not this city girl’s style. These boots might be a hot trend, but I have the hardest time figuring out ways to wear it. It just doesn’t seem to resonate with my personal style. But I am determined to make this trend work for me and I have already taken my first step in that direction of my mission accomplishment by ordering these. Can’t wait to try em on.
Sock booties
Another trend to transcend the fashion scene is sock booties. It has been everywhere, from runway to real way, pretty much every fashionista has been rocking this trend. I am glad it continues to be a must-have trend this fall, coz the gazillion sock-booties I bought last year needed to make their public appearances.
Anything Patchy ( statement making )
Talk to me about the patchy boot trend. I was gifted these patchwork booties and I have been wearing them non-stop. I was on the fence about these two- tone beauties, that BTW comes in a red option and its HOT, but my daughter helped me make the final decision and rest is history. If patches are not your jam, try a pair with a square-toe and sculptural heels – two very statement makers.
